The Project Team is currently evaluating the Short List of Alternatives and will present this evaluation and selection of the Preliminary Recommended Plan at a second Public Information Centre (PIC) tentatively planned for the Summer/Fall of 2023

About the Project
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has retained AECOM to undertake a Planning, Preliminary Design, and Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Study for Highway 401 from 1 km east of Highway 16 to 3.3 km west of Maitland Road for a total length of approximately 20.75 km, located within the Township of Augusta, Town of Prescott, and the Township of Edwardsburg Cardinal.
Class Environmental Assessment Process
This study is following the approved planning process for a Group ‘B’ project under the MTO Class EA for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000). Group B projects involve major improvements to provincial transportation facilities. A Public Information Centre is planned at two key milestones during this process and advance notification will be provided.
Consultation
Meaningful public and stakeholder consultation is important in shaping the outcome of this study. The Project Team has developed a consultation program that will:
- Provide stakeholders with access to study information in a timely manner that enables them to provide input and participate in a meaningful way.
