Notice of Public Information Centre (PIC) #2 – Virtual PIC
August 3, 2023
PIC #2 for the Highway 401 Improvements from 1 km East of Highway 16 to 3.3 West of Maitland Road Preliminary Design & Class Environmental Assessment Study (G.W.P. 4024-20-00) will be presented virtually through the project website starting August 3, 2023.
PIC #1 was presented virtually on the project website starting December 8, 2021. The PIC #1 material will remain available for viewing & download.
About the Project
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has retained AECOM to undertake a Planning, Preliminary Design, and Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) Study for Highway 401 from 1 km east of Highway 16 to 3.3 km west of Maitland Road for a total length of approximately 20.75 km, located within the Township of Augusta, Town of Prescott, and the Township of Edwardsburg Cardinal.
Class Environmental Assessment Process
This study is following the approved planning process for a Group ‘B’ project under the MTO Class EA for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000). Group B projects involve major improvements to provincial transportation facilities. A Public Information Centre is planned at two key milestones during this process and advance notification will be provided.
Consultation
Meaningful public and stakeholder consultation is important in shaping the outcome of this study. The Project Team has developed a consultation program that will:
- Provide stakeholders with access to study information in a timely manner that enables them to provide input and participate in a meaningful way.
